There is a Chinese saying. "the carver always leaves something behind",
small scratches, nicks, marks where the bangle was held by the carvers
tool, small cracks that will not affect the wear of the bangle. It is
tradtional to use jade bangles that have scratches or cracks to make carved
bangles, and the carving disguises the flaws.
