Favorite Jade Bangle Bracelets |

This is my number one favorite jade bangle bracelet. It's natural Burmese jadeite, purchased in 2000 from my friend Jackson who owns a jade carving shop in China. In 2006, he offered to buy it back from me as he said the quality was so good he could not get this kind of quality again. What makes this jade bangle valuable is the big imperial green vein, the brighness of the bangle, translucency, and amount of jade in the bangle. US retail value $2800-3500. 54mm inside diameter and flat inside, 13mm wide. There is a Chinese saying that diamonds and gold have a value but jade has no value. This means that gold, diamonds have an internation standard based on gemology factors, but jade is valued for a variety of reasons and ultimately the price is based on what it can be sold for. This is the jade bangle I wear when I go to China, for "face" and to compare other jade bangles to when I am shopping for jade. It is a good quality so that jade sellers who see me wearing it know that I know what is good quality, and gives me "face" and opens up their inventory so they show me only genuine and good quality jade. It is of a quality that is not "western" commercial quality, which is the kind of jade I like to buy and sell. But it is not too valuable and expensive that give the impression that I am going to spend a lot of money, and will be expected to pay the higher prices offered to "foreigners". Wearing this jade bangle and speaking Chinese language has been invaluable for allowing me to purchase good quality jade at reasonable prices to pass on to my customers. |

This is my favorite "every day" jade bangle bracelet, a high quality, high chime old mine "lao pit" jadeite bangle 53.3mm and 13mm wide. It's part of a ring of 20 "sisters" I purchased, all carved from the same rough, all different sizes and slightly different. I don't list them on my web site, they are a special request from true jade lovers. (The sizes are 53-59mm) It's the kind of jade that looks prettier as you wear it and gets a "glow" that only the finest jade does. It has a good yin and yang balance and I wear it most of the time unless I need more yin or yang, then I change to another jade bangle to wear to get the qi energy I need. The value in 2009 is $3000 and it's the high quality of jade that goes up in value. It's very hard jade, lao pit, and withstands life's daily activity, holds up very well to my active life. You can see the "flower" pattern, the pattern that shows off the jade stone. There is never any doubt when you see this kind of jade the it is genuine, and the color is natural.
This is one of my favorite "every day" jadeite bangle bracelets, 53mm flat inside, 13mm wide. I purchased a rough jadeite and had several of these carved, and shared them with special "jade sisters" friends, and have some for sale on the Ying Yu Jade web site. This is "moss in snow", big chunks of mossy green on icy white. It's very translucent, has the most energy of my smooth jade bangle bracelets. These retail for $1000+ but you might still be able to find some in my store for under $700.
My
favorite carved Burmese jadeite bangle bracelet, 52mm flat inside 13mm wide and
thick front to back. Very light grey-lavender-green with natural "hong"
honey-red veins. I purchased from a Chinese woman, it was old when I bought it,
perhaps a Qing dynasty jade bangle. The carving is very unique bamboo and Chinese
calligraphy, a lotus and a kirin old style dragon. It was cracked in several places
when I got it, but I wear it often as I think cracks sometimes relieve the stress
of the roundedness of the jade, and take the pressure off so it is less likely
to break if it gets struck. This jade is very good quality, and even for a carved
bangle, the "chime" is as good as my favorite smooth bangle. Retail value is estimated $2500. |
