I fell in love with the blue color of the Caribbean water, and when I got home and did my nails, I used OPI Yodel Me on My Cell blue on my toes because I thought the blue wouldn't look good on my finger nails. But when I was doing yoga this morning and my bangle was near my toes, they both looked great together. So I put some other green jade colors next to the the nail color, and surprisingly they all looked good together. Naturla color genuine ade has so much translucence, even when it seems like it's a solid color, that it picks up other color like a chameleon. I bought a sun dress in St Maartin that is the same color as the nail polish, and thought my jade bangle looked good with it, so I shouldn't have been surprised. Isn't jade a marvelous gem stone! Our cruise was in the Caribbean, mostly the French West Indies and it was warm, sunny and I enjoyed it and was relaxed and happy. But I couldn't get over the change in my every-day jade bangle. It didn't look as pretty, and lost much of the flowery green, looked white and dull. The Celebrity Century is an older and smaller ship and the water was rough frequently, and I took Bonine for seasickness two days, and felt OK when it kicked in. So I guessed my jade bangle was really reflecting my health, as I didn't feel as good as I usually do. But today it looks a little better, although still not as pretty. When I was in the grocery store stocking up this morning, a neighbor who was also on the cruise told me his wife was sick, as were many others who went on the cruise, from that flu-like sickness that is contagious on ships. I am sure my jade was protecting me, and that's why it didn't look so good, using its qi energy to keep me healthy. Can't wait to see it look better when my immune system is back to normal in a couple of days, because I miss the beautiful seafoam green veins. February 25

I think we have passed our last "freeze date" of the winter here, and tomorrow I hope to get my poinsettias planted and move the orchids outside. But just to be on the safe side, I'm going to put some clearance jade ben wa balls in the ground with them for energy and protection. And give them a good dose of Reiki. I have used damaged jade on my plants for years, and often hang a cracked bangle on an ailing bush or vine plant and seen improvement. I use the Chinese jade because of the energy, it's the same jade the rollers, health tools are made from, and for energy use I like it better than jadeite. I had the clearance balls I'm going to put with my plants in a box this afternoon and a girlfriend stopped by to visit . She enjoyed holding them and playing with them for the energy. We put some on the area rug, put socks on our feet, and moved our feet over the balls for a fabulous foot massage. Then giggled about the absurdity of what we were doing. But it sure did feel good. That Chinese jade really does have the best energy, for you, your plants, the earth. February 10
A friend commented that she wore her fu lu shou jade bangle over the Chinese lunar new year holidays, and then went back to wear the jade bangle she wears all the time, which is a "sister" to the one I wear all the time. I also wore a couple of my more festive jade bangles, and yesterday returned to the one I wear all the time. Her comment that it felt so good to put it back on echoes what I felt. There's just something about our favorite jade bangles that have the best energy for us. The "sister" jade bangles are the old mine "lao pit" jadeite, fine grained, high chime, light in color, that has the best qi energy. Mine looked only a little dull after not wearing it, but brightened right away. It still had a lot of my body qi in it. Sometimes customers ask how they know what jade is the best energy for them, and I think people really are attracted to the jade qi that is best for them. February 9

I never know "for
sure" what's going to be in my jade shipments from China. I place
an order, but because jade is natural and always different, I trust my
supplier to choose for me. He has been my supplier for 11 years and gets
me really, really good deals that I can pass on to you. This time I received
some classic round white Chinese jade bangle bracelets that when I first
looked at them, I thought they were "mutton fat" jade, the rare
white jade from Xinjiang because you can see the "stone" pattern,
like you see in very fine grained jade, and jadeite. But they are indigenous
Chinese jade, genuine and natural color. And it's so rare to get round
inside jade bangles now, so these are certainly a treasure. AND they are

Last week a customer who purchased a jade pendant commented on the shipping charge which is based on the amount of the purchase, that it seemed high. The table rate of shipping needs to cover an item as light as a pendant as well as heavy as a jade roller, and for international as well as domestic shipping, not an easy task. A couple days ago I shipped a jadeite bangle with insurance and the cost to me for shipping was higher than the table rate. This evening I received 98 pounds of jade from China by DHL express. If you saw the charge for the shipping on that, you would drop your jaw. Everything that gets shipped to you has also been shipped from China, everything shipped from Ying Yu Jade is also shipped insured by our private insurance, not USPS insurance, and while it might seem to be a high shipping charge, it usually doesn't cover the shipping from China and to you. So please keep that in mind when you put something in your cart and think "the shipping rate sure seems to be high". By the way, USPS is raising postage again in April. February 4
Readers often ask about wearing more than one jade bangle on the same wrist. Sometimes I fall in love with a jade bangle that is really too big for me, but I really like it a lot, and I'll wear it awhile on the same wrist as I wear my regular jade bangle. If I'm going to wear it for more than a day, sometimes I add either a cloisonne bangle or my 22k gold bangle, but unless I am going to be doing physical work, I really don't need a "buffer", just be aware there are two bangles there. In fact, wearing two bangles on the same wrist makes one more "mindful" of their actions, their life, and mindfullness benefits spiritual growth. So go ahead and wear jade bangles together with some care. February 3
Chinese lunar new year is not only one day, but rather several days of celebration, usually a week or two. So you can celebrate the new year for a long time! One of the traditions is to give a young girl her first jade bangle bracelet. The Chinese belief is that as she wears the bangle, her arms grows and when her arm gets so big it breaks the bangle, then it's time for her to be a young woman, and good luck is associated with the breaking of the bangle. Then she gets her second jade bangle, and as she is still not fully grown, the second jade bangle gets tighter to her wrist as her body grows into that of a mature woman. We sold a lot of small jade bangles the past few weeks, so the tradition still exists in Chinese families here in the USA. February 2
Chinese and Asian people have been busy shopping today. It's considered very good luck to have new clothes to wear on Chinese New Year, and auspicious to buy jade at the New Year.
