The Daily Special is a small size 54mm white Chinese jade bangle. I have more of this size than larger sizes, so put some on sale at 10% discount for customers with small wrists. These are very nice quality of Chinese jade and could pass for jadeite if you didn't test it with refraction. White jade has qi energy for the lung meridian. Helps balance breathing, allergies, healing for coughs and colds. Emotional balancing for grief, loss, depression. White jade has a qi feel of purity, very honest and straight forward. People love white jade, and I sell more of the white jade bead bracelets than any other color. If you wear a small size and want a good price, today is the time to get your. February 25

On Valentine's Day, the women at our table at dinner finished fast enough to go to the concourse where the shops were having a drawing for a Pandora bracelet. We thought it would be great to buy some additional charms to remind us of the cruise if one of us won it. It was worth skipping dessert for the chance! When we got there, the bracelet was described as "Pandora like", and I heard the comments among us there "so it's a fake". It was pretty, but after not winning it, I looked at the selection of the "Pandora like" bracelets and saw they were made in China and not nearly as nice as my real Pandora bracelet. Being "me", I looked through all the jewelry very carefully, reading the packaging information and my intensity attracted the manager who asked if I needed assistance. I commented that all the jewelry seemed to be made in China, and was some
what disappointed because I thought Holland America would have quality jewelry. He showed me the tanzanite, emeralds, and I asked if they
were natural or heat treated. He then took me to a small area that had "fine jewelry", which was diamonds, (some heat colored), and pearls, including Tahitian pearls. A woman was trying on a big black Tahitian pearl embellished with tiny diamonds, truly beautiful. I didn't recognize the origin of the certification, but if it was truly natural pearl and diamond, the $2800 asking price was reasonable. I had seen similar selling on the Paul Gauguin ship on our Tahiti cruise last year, which sold for higher prices. I wanted what she was trying on, real bad! The tiny diamonds looked like stars on the black "night" of the pearl. And I regret not buying it now, because when I went back the next day, either she didn't buy it or they
had a similar one displayed. Next to jade, I love pearls. And now my "bliss" turned into regret: as the Chinese saying "get it or regret it"

Back home and somewhat rested from a wonderful Caribbean cruise. I had at least 300 emails to deal with while I was gone. If you didn't get a response yet and it's urgent, please send it again because it might have got lost or accidentally deleted. What I like about being on a cruise is that I can get away from work totally, since there's nothing I can do when I am out of the country with limited internet access. There are actually people who live on cruise ships. It's kind of like "assisted living", including meals, laundry, cleaning, and the idea is intriguing. I had quite a few "intriguing ideas" while vacationing. Two had to do with jade, including designing a band like a seaband for seasickness, using jade and magnets, and a lanyard for the cabin card using jade and other pretty beads. But most had to do with pleasant leisure projects. I played bingo once, and trivia games twice, indulged in spa services, sat through long and leisurely dinners with friends, watched shows and movies on board, and laid around on the pool deck as well as on my balcony, and slept in and had late breakfasts. Since I live in a gated community that has a lot of these kinds of activities year round, I made my "new year resolution" to play more, work less. Blog readers know that I have a passion for jade, and won't stay away from jade for fun and business, and I am blessed that I have a business with something I love. While I am in this blissful state, it's a good time to make offers February 18

I am taking a much needed break from work and both YYJ and JBB stores will be closed February 9-16. Daily Specials will resume February 17 or 18. If you need a jade gift for Valentine's Day, order by February 8. You will still be able to browse through all the products on the web pages, but when you click any "order" or "add to cart" link, the shopping carts will be disabled. So you can still do "window shopping" for beautiful jades.

Chinese people like to keep their personal jade in their family because they believe that because jade qi and human qi are so compatible, the jade a person wears becomes the person who wears it. Passing on a piece of jade to another family member is like giving a piece of yourself. When I write that jade becomes more pretty as you wear it, that's because of the jade qi and person qi blending. When I came across the bangle in the photo below, I didn't recognize it because it had been in a box for so long that it looked dull. As I handled it, then put it on my wrist, it started looking so much better, and I recognized it, remembered buying it in China and again was so impressed with how jade looks so much better when its worn. Pale, or light color jade, is the kind of jade that really looks nicer as you wear it. If it's good quality, fine grain, it becomes "brighter", more vibrant. The jade bangle I'm wearing in the photo shows more green veins when I'm active, feeling good and happy. Natural jade won't change color, because it doesn't have any color resin in it. But you will see the grain more, and it will look "prettier". Sometimes a customer will receive their new jade bangle that they ordered and email that it doesn't seem as nice as they thought it would. If it's been in the inventory box for a long time, it does seem more dull. I always suggest wearing it overnight, or for a day, and see if the body qi, daylight, make it look better. The interacting of jade qi and human qi are one of the things that make jade so special. February 5

I did it again! Although I have a fabulous collection of jade bangle bracelets, and you would think that I have "the perfect one", I fell in love again. While I was getting the jadeite bangle bracelets ready to list, I found a small wide "cuff" style soft yin green and translucent bangle that I slipped on my wrist, and decided I should keep for myself. I had it next to my everyday jade bangle and could hear it "chiming" beautifully, but was concerned that with my active life, one of them would chip or crack if they struck each other just right (or just wrong!). So I took it off, then got the idea to put one of the jadeite bead bracelets between them. And then they all "chimed" but didn't clunk around, so I have been wearing these together. I didn't think the jadeite bead bracelets were a good shade of green because they looked so different from both of my bangles when I took the beads out to put them on, but because of the variation of the color, and because they are all A grade natural jadeite, they all looked great together. The photos below show my "new" wide cuff jadeite bangle by itself, then the other photo shows it with my everyday jade bangle and two of the bead stretch bracelets between them. One bead bracelet does the job of protecting, but I wanted to show both sizes. I think with wide cuff jade bangles, the larger beads probably look and work better.

I took the photo of my wrist, so it's not "professionally" done. The bangle by itself is how it looks in direct daylight with light coming through it to show translucence, and the wrist photo shows how they look without light coming through them, and the solo photo is accurate, while the wrist photo shows how they look together and how the beads "work" with the bangles.
I really want to keep the "cuff" of jade, but I do have a lot of jade bangles! I haven't decided, and will accept offers on it for a couple of days. . The item is #BB2770. It's 53mm inside diameter, 17mm wide, 8mm thick, and fits like 51-52mm because of the width. But if you can get it on, it will fit closer to your wrist because of the width. If it gets listed on the web site, the price will be between $3888-5000. It's fine grained jadeite, has a high "chime" a good polish and nice translucence. Retail value would be around $8000. If you want a best quality for a small wrist, this is the one. Refer to item #BB2770 and contact me at yingyujade @ yingyujade.com And the bead bracelets are at the bottom of this page. February 4

We have been so busy with orders for the holiday season, then Lunar New Year holiday, and now Valentine's day that you might have noticed some of our products are labeled as "sold" but have not been removed from the web site and replaced. I try to remove them when they are sold because it's a fact that as soon as a jadeite bangle bracelet sells, I get several emails from people writing that they have been looking at that bangle for a long time, and want to know why it is "gone". Ancient Chinese saying: "get it or regret it". This weekend I pulled some more jadeite bangle bracelets from inventory to get photographed so we can add them to the web site. All of the jadeite bangle bracelets that I did not personally purchase during my trips to China are listed on the JBB web site. I don't feel an "attachment" to those because I don't have memories of the experience. I do want to mention that some of the jade bangles on JBB are the higher quality that I personally purchased, and they are mixed in with the "elegant" collection, and their higher price reflects their higher quality. But the jade bangles I personally purchased are really the best of the qualities, and their quality is what attracted me to them in the first place. Since there are never prices marked on jade bangles when they are purchased from the jade carver, I had to bargain hard for each one to get a price I could afford to sell them online, so they do have special meaning to me. But what I noticed when I pulled them to list them was how wonderful their quality is: the appearance of the jadeite stone, their high "chime" which are characteristics of the "lao pit" old mine jadeite that is so rare to even find available these days. But, perhaps they are not the most "sell-able". They are not highly colored because they are natural A grade jadeite, and not "real green", because they are A grade jadeite, and the good green color and translucence is what most customers want in jadeite bangle bracelets. And sadly, many customers will believe that "good green jade" that can be purchased for a couple hundred of dollars is real and A grade and many sellers will state they are A grade and offer fake certificates. But the fact is, the kind of jade you can purchase for under $1000 USD is not going to be A grade genuine and natural color. Most of YYJ customers are very knowledgeable about jade. That's a reason for this blog and our resource information, so you will understand about jade. And customers who "know" jadeite will appreciate the jadeite bangles on YYJ are not only A grade genuine jadeite, but also a very good price. As I work toward "retiring" this business, I will list the jades I've been hoarding over the 14 years of buying and selling online, and you can decide for yourself it it's the kind of jade you want to wear. I started jade business because of the qi energy I discovered in jade, and wanted to share that wonderful qi energy in jade with people as part of my mission for sharing Chinese wellness. February 3
