Pixiu is one of the five auspicious animals in Chinese tradition. The word means "ward of evil". Pixiu is a protector. Pixiu has the ability to draw good qi energy from all directions. If you are going through a bad time in your life, Pixiu helps you get through it with good energy and protection from bad energy. Pixiu is good feng shui in your home and office, as well as to wear on your body. The Daily Special for May 29 is a very well carved and large Pixiu pendant. I really like Pixiu, so the Pixiu we buy and sell has been carefully chosen, and well carved. BJP832 is nicer than the photo shows with detailed carving. It's a good sized pendant, and can be used as a small jade carving in home or office. And at a great price. May 28 Today I received an email from a woman who lives in China who wanted to order a jade bangle bracelet, and have it shipped to China. We have had our jadeite since prior to 2008, the jadeite embargo, and this older jade is cherished in China more than the newer jades. We stopped shipping to China several years ago because the parcel never arrived to the customer with the jade inside. It was probably stolen once it arrived in China for inspection. I don't know if Chinese customs opens and inspects every parcel, but some of my friends in China tell me all parcels and large envelopes they receive from outside China are opened and either are delivered opened or re-sealed. I would think that Chinese women have the experience with bartering to be able to buy jade at a "good price", but as I have written in previous blogs, good jade, natural color, is very difficult to find these days, especially at the low prices we sell them for. May 26 Sometimes I receive the question: why should I pay $300+ for a jade bangle bracelet on your web sites when I can get the same thing on ebay for $25? Simply stated: it's not the "same thing". I often look at ebay to see what kind of jade is sold, and what people are buying. Jade sellers in China who really "know" jade often threaten to hack my web site if I don't raise the prices to what they sell jade for because they think our prices are too low, and they probably are, but we want to get them out of a box, and on a wrist, get them sold! New customers to our jade website sometimes tell me that they bought several jade bangles and didn't really know what kind of jade they were buying until they broke, and the inside was quite different from the outside, or "just didn't look right". B and C grade jade is bleached with acid that makes the stone brittle and more easy to chip, crack, break. The color treating process has been so refined over the years that it's very difficult to tell what jade is color treated, and what is not. Most new jade bangles natural color under $300 will be very pale, soft shades of green, or grayish, and not translucent. I say "new" because we bought most of our jade before the embargo, prior to 2008, when prices were much lower and quality much better. And that's why I get the threats: because we can offer much lower prices for the "real thing". If you want a collection of jade bangle bracelets, and don't want to pay much, then get the B and C grade, get them cheap, and when they lose their color or break, get more. But if you want a high quality jadeite bangle that's natural color, and one you will wear all the time for the qi energy of the jade, then buy the best quality you can afford to pay, from trusted sellers like Ying Yu Jade. Why are we trusted? We've been in business 14 years, we have a lot of reliable, true information on our web sites, our first web site was calmspirit.net, Chinese wellness which reflects our values about wearing genuine and natural jade for health, and we wouldn't but all the effort into this information over 14 years, and still be in business if we weren't a trusted and reliable jade seller. Thanks to all our customers who have purchased from us over the years. We still have return customers who made their first purchases when we had only the CalmSpirit web site. You know what good jade is, love and respect jade, and know where to get the best jade at the best prices. We thank you! May 25 14 years ago the end of May, we received our first shipment from China of merchandise to sell on our brand new web site. The small box contained 25 jade bangle bracelets, 25 jade pendants and 10 mala bracelets. I didn't know if I could sell them, but listed them on the Calm Spirit website that was our first web site with information about Chinese wellness and about travel in China. We didn't have a "shopping cart" as ecommerce was still in its infancy. I just know I loved jade and wanted to sell it, and was determined to sell only genuine and natural jade and jadeite, and only jade that I would personally wear myself. A couple of years later, a very respected jade carver in China suggested the name "Ying Yu", meaning "quality jade" and the yingyujade.com web site was developed. 14 years later our business has grown tremendously! I still treat customers the way I want to be treated, and spend time answering questions and giving personal service helping to choose that perfect piece of jade. We are celebrating by offering customers a chance to make an offer on items $388 plus, including JadeBangleBracelets items. You can use this form, click here, to make your offer. Get a wonderful piece of jade at a great price as we celebrate. May 23 We had very nice spring weather
in Ohio and Pennsylvania this weekend, warm and sunny, not too hot yet.
I wore one of my two very excellent quality classic round jade bangle
bracelets. It seemed to have lost some of its glow and good color since
it's been in a drawer and not on my wrist. I had the opportunity to give
some Reiki sessions, and while I was doing it, my bangle caught my eye
because of the glow. When I got done, the green veins had become very
green, the translucence was more obvious and the very soft hues of lavender
were more obvious. People thank me when I give them a Reiki session, and
I thank them, too, because flowing all the energy through our bodies is
good for both of us. And good for my jade! Amazing at how much qi energy
makes jade look more beautiful, and you know all the energy from the jade
is also going back into you. Customer service will be closed until May 20. I'm taking a quick trip to Ohio to visit my mom who lives in an assisted living facility. I tried to get there for Mother's Day, but a few days later is almost as good. Last time I went to visit her, I gave her a jade cat pendant, because she has always loved cats, but can't have one where she is living. This year I am going to give her one of the hollow jade carvings, which were traditionally used in China as feng shui, fragrance in the home. She can add some fragrance to her room, hopefully keep her spirits and energy good. If you need anything, please wait until May 21 to send an email because I don't want your emails to get lost while I'm traveling. By the way, I'm wearing a black jade pendant for protection qi while I'm traveling. Love that black jade! There are some discount coupons on the Daily Special page, so you can make your own Daily Special which will be shipped May 20. May 15 Many responses to the previous blog, thanks so much for sharing your thoughts and feelings about wearing that "special" jade bangle, or "saving" it. Most told me that they wear it, but are careful, and after wearing it for awhile feel more comfortable about wearing it all the time. And several women commented that they get many compliments on wearing their best jades. One of my Asian jade friends wrote that she wore hers in a Chinese restaurant in Honolulu and the proprietor grabbed her wrist to look at her gorgeous jade. He told her that she was a very lucky lady to have such an excellent high quality, beautiful jade bangle bracelet. And that's the kind of jade you get at Ying Yu Jade! So wear your jade, wear it happily, and enjoy it. It's not meant to sit in a drawer. Jade bangles should be on your wrist. May 13 I am getting the guest room ready for a brother who will be here later this month. I keep a big jewelry armoire in the room, and always relish looking at my special jade bangle bracelets I keep in it. My favorite is my "retirement" jade bangle, a classic fei cui green round style, nicely translucent, and was purchased a long time ago, a Ming's "water jade". Waiting for "retirement" because the rounded styles are more fragile, which is a reason the flat inside D shape is so popular among active women today. But I am always torn about wearing it, because what if I can't get it on when I "retire"? So many women write to tell me that as they age, they need a larger jade bangle because of the wrist. It often hurts more to get on a tight fitting jade bangle as we age, and especially for the rounded style, you want it to fit as close to the wrist as possible. So, I wore it around the house for awhile, and it felt so good, and looked so good. I decided to keep it as a retirement gift to myself, something special to look forward to. Maybe I will retire sooner than anticipated, just to get to wear it! May 11 Today you can get a great deal on the jade bangle you have been looking at when you "China jade shop". There's a saying in China, that gold and diamonds have a price, but jade has no price. Diamond and gold are often fairly standard in pricing based on karat or carat units, but jade price is determined by what the buyer and seller agree on for a price. When you shop in the jade markets in China, there are no prices on the jades. The price you pay is based on what you buy, how many you want, and what price you both agree on. And no credit card payment: it's cash only. Today you can make an offer of jade bangles item #BB or #TI on Ying Yu Jade, priced $500+, or on the "elegant" collection, items JBB on JadeBangleBracelets web site. Check out our Daily Special for the form to use to submit your offer. And get a great deal@ May 7 We have been committed to having a selection of jade bangle bracelets for every budget. The JadeBangleBracelets web site was designed to sell only jade bangle bracelets and offer some excellent values, and have a "bargain bangle" section. We are slowly closing out the bargain jade bangles and will replace that page with weekly sale jade bangles from our "elegant" collection. The selection will change weekly. Right now you can get an excellent price on the "bargain bangles" that are currently being sold as the sale bangles. There used to be four pages of bargain bangles, now there is one page, so they are selling out fast. Get yours before they sell out. And check back to see what's on sale. May 5 The
