You can always see what's new, click here I often get requests for lavender jade baby bangle bracelets. It's not traditional in China to give lavender jade to baby and children, because green or white jade has the better energy for them, to nurture their growth. Lavender is reserved for the mature woman. The lavender jade energy is related to the kidney, or the "root chakra", and its a very sensuous energy color. Also energy for wisdom, contentment in life and happiness. If you want to choose a special jade for a special women, lavender jade is a good choice because of the energy. November 27 Best wishes to you for a very happy Thanksgiving. November 25 Every time there's a family/firends gift-giving event, everyone tells me that I sure don't have any problems deciding what to give because everyone loves a gift of jade. Whether it's a simple jade piece like a pendant or "flower" jade adjustable bracelet, or a more expensive jade jewelry or jade carving, there are always "oohs and ahhhs" when the gift is opened. In fact, when I list a small Daily or Weekly Specials, I often set one aside so I can use it as a gift. Someone told me she gave her girlfriend a jade egg in a silk fortune cookie holder, and the next time she visited her friend she saw it displayed in her curio cabinet. She didn't know what it was but she thought it was so pretty she wanted to show it off. A gift of jade is always welcome. November 24 I need to clarify yesterday's blog. No, YYJ won't have a site-wide big discount sale this weekend, but we will have some very special daily specials with free shipping offers on certain orders. After all, we know you are looking for a sale this weekend! So check out the Specials starting on Thanksgiving day. November 23 I ordered a household item online two weeks ago and today discovered it was lost in shipping. Even with delivery confirmation, it can't be found. AND it's not even the big holiday shipping season yet. If you plan to order holiday gifts, I recommend you do it prior to Thanksgiving, because after Thanksgiving there's a higher risk of things getting lost. And most of the jade items are one-of-a-kind can't be replaced. YYJ won't have a big Black Friday blowout with half-off discounts. We don't artificially mark up prices so we can offer "big blowout sales". Daily and Weekly Specials are significant savings, these are real discounts, real sales. And we'll continue these through the holidays. November 22 I took a phone
order from a customer in Colorado who mentioned that outside her window
the world was covered in snow. Outside my window, the bougainvillea are
lush, hibiscus and rose in full bloom, oranges look like almost ready
to pick, and outdoor poinsetta topped with red. I was picking a few white
ginger flowers to bring fragrance indoors and had on a jade bangle I was
"trying" to see if I'm going to keep it. Jade looks so perfect
with nature, the greens always look wonderful with the greens of plants,
as you can see in the photo. I took a few moments to enjoy the scent of
the ginger and admire the beauty of the plant and the jade and want to
share a photo with blog readers. When I started my education and career in psychology I bought a book called "Don't Push The River" (it flows by itself") c.1970 by a Barry Stevens, a Gestalt therapist who was a Zen practitioner. It's about "going with the flow" and it's still in my library. The book cover shows a photo of the author by a river, and there's a lot of references to nature. Similar to the Dao, "living in harmony with nature". Thanksgiving is a week away and I'm cooking, have guests coming for dinner and getting organized this week. But getting somewhat stressed about it. As I was in horrendous traffic today, I was thinking about "Don't Push the River", and how 40 years since the book was written, how it is relevant. Today, it seems like the "river" is the endless traffic especially in winter when the "snowbirds" contribute to making our roads in central Florida a gridlock. When I'm frustrated, I rub my jade bangle to calm me, the jade grounds me and I breathe easier and relax. Jade comes from the quiet below the earth, while above the earth's surface we have our stressful and crazy lives. Jade helps us live in harmony with nature, whether it's a river, or the traffic "flow" (or lack of it!) November 18 The moon is waxing and will be full November 21. Women are affected by the moon phases, and when the moon is full, they are affected by the high yang of the moon energy. Some symptoms of too much yang are restlessness, problems sleeping, iritability, anxiety, stress, dry skin, fast pulse, and susceptible to becoming ill. If you wear jade to balance your body qi, this is a good time to wear your "yin" light color jade with calming energy to balance the yang that is building. If you need a yin jade bangle, you can get a discount of $25 on jade bangles $350+ with coupon code YIN25. Need some help finding the right one for you? Click the contact above and let me know your size and what you need. November 17 Q: I've
been wearing my jade egg, using pelvic muscles to hold it in for about
20 minutes while I take my shower, fix my hair and make up in the morning.
I feel a pleasant abdominal tightness and over the past three weeks notice
my stomach is getting flatter! I am so surprised. Is this from using the
jade egg? My trip to Ohio was to visit my mother who has just recently had severe health issues and was admitted to a nursing home. It was really painful seeing my mom in so much distress. My brothers and their wives having been making all the decisions, which sure are difficult, and I've been staying out of it because they are there, and I'm not. But I support whatever they decide. However, they were at a point with the doctors and staff about her care that needed a little heavier hand, so it was up to me do be super-assertive about certain issues, because then I could leave and they could still have the good relationship with the staff, and hopefully do what they promise so that "witch from Florida" doesn't come back! And I really HATE being like that, but know at times it's necessary. I always rub my jade bangle when I distressed, and wished I had some jade that was more "yin" to keep me calm and help me de-stress after the ordeals. My mom is in no condition to wear jade, but I'm going to send her a hollow carved "spice bottle" with some aromatherapy for her room. I think that will be a good energy and feng shui for her. When you feel helpless about situations, a piece of jade with all that wonderful energy makes you feel like you are offering something of help. November 15 I'm making a short trip to Ohio to visit my mom and other family members November 13-15. While I'm gone there's a special on the JadeBangleBracelets web site, and a coupon for Ying Yu Jade, go to the Daily Special page for details. Will wear my "constant companion" jadeite bangle, see how it likes being in cold weather! November 13 Today's Special is a jade bangle I would love to give to my mom, but now due to her medical condition she can't wear any jewelry. But I wish she could wear this one, with it's beautiful imperial green veins and silky smooth polish. It's full of tiny veins that photo doesn't show, and will look prettier as it is worn, the green becoming brighter and the stone more defined. If you could purchase only one piece of jade, this would be the one to own. It's a beauty. November 12 I'm a U.S. Navy veteran, I was stationed at San Diego Naval Hospital "many years ago", and send my best wishes to you on this l Veteran's Day. If you are a veteran and place an order today, I'll refund your shipping if you pay with Paypal, AND write"I'm a Vet" in the comments box on the order form. Enlisting in the Navy got me out of small town Ohio after high school and gave me unique training and experiences, opened my eyes to the world. I used my veteran's benefits to help me get my college degrees, so the experience was mutually beneficial. Happy Veterans Day! November 11. The 56.2mm and 59.5mm remain, you can still purchase for $888 until I get them listed tomorrow. November 10 By request, a
photo of the "mutton fat" jade bangles from Xinjiang. The small
round one is 54mm, the other sizes left to right are 52.5x12mm.56.2x12mm,59.5x10mm
and 62x16mm. If you want one of these TODAY before I get them photographed,
listed on web pages, added to shopping cart, the price is $888 and I'll
include free shipping. The man in China who had these made is selling
them for $1000 in China, and I don't know if I will be able to get any
more. Click the "contact" above and I'll make an order for you.
These are all creamy white with green veins (my supplier thinks we prefer
the green than all creamy), and the energy feeling is very grounding and
stable, with calm spirit and satisfaction. November 9 A jade I rarely write about is the "mutton fat" jade from Xinjiang, China, probably the most cherished of all the jades for Chinese people. The last time I had mutton fat jade to sell was in 2002. Xinjiang is an autonomous region in China and there has been much police action, riots and other social and political disorder there, so I've never gone to Xinjiang, and "foreigners" generally are not permitted to go there. Xinjiang mutton fat jade has a texture similar to jadeite, very dense, with the "flowering" pattern that shows the jade stone. It's creamy like mutton fat which is where it gets its name. There can be hues and veins of honey or green, but most of it is creamy white. I'm not sure if "foreign" western women are interested in this kind of jade, but Chinese women cherish it and would love to own a piece. My Chinese jade supplier purchased a rough of mutton fat jade in northern Xinjiang, shipped it to the south of China to get it carved, and is shipping me 5 jade bangles. I am thrilled. They will be a variety of sizes, probably my size 53mm to 59mm, Chinese sizes. I may not list these, but if you are interested in one, let me know. The price will be around $1000. They are definitely a collector's item as well as beautiful jade you can wear and pass down to your daughter. November 8 White jade/jadeite is very popular, women love it. I sometimes wear a white jadeite bangle on the same wrist as my regular bangle, because it's so beautiful together. But white jadeite is actually not very common and rare when it is all natural with no color enhancement. Most light color jadeite has spots in it, veins of other colors that are not really pretty, and it's a common practice for this kind of jade to be bleached with acid to remove the spots. This leaves the jade white, very translucent, very brittle from the acid washing, and hardly even resembling jade. The Monday daily special is a slender, small natural white jadeite bangle, no acid washing, and you can see the "flower" pattern of the jade stone to show that it has had no color treatment of any kind. November 7 We are having a rare for November cold snap here in central Florida, and wouldn't you know, it's the day of our community annual yard sales. It was 46 degrees this morning. I don't own a winter coat, but I had two sweatshirts as I made my way looking for treasures. But after only three yards, my hands were so cold I felt nauseated, came home and found some of those little gloves that stretch, and put them on. But my hands had already suffered and were painful, felt awful. However, after I got home, the hand that my jade bangle is above, felt better right away, while hours later the other hand still aches. The jade helped balance it much faster. Wish I could cover myself in jade when I need to feel better...jade blankets? I wish. November 6 For several years I donated a percentage of sales from Ying Yu Jade to a Chinese orphanage for physically challenged children who were abandoned by their parents. I haven't been to the orphanage for awhile, but a friend in China donates from YYJ when he goes to visit. The White Swan Hotel in Guangzhou is a popular place for foreign families who go to China to adopt a Chinese child, it used to be the "last stop" of Chinese culture orientation before families headed home with their new child. A Chinese women told me a story about the "jade embryo" that women would wear who hoped to become pregnant. She said it was good luck to wear also when you are getting ready to adopt, so the child will feel more like the parent's very own child. I bought a big handful of jade embryo pendants from her and still have a few left, the Daily Special today. November 5 Pixiu, ancient Chinese animal of protection and good luck, is an interesting and essential part of feng shui. Yesterday a customer ordered a carved jadeite bangle with pixiu, she needs some good energy in her life. I told her that Chinese people rub Pixiu when they need help, and I hope it brings her what she needs.. It is very common for a Chinese family to have a jade Pixiu pendant in their home. The Pixiu have different forms and styles which determine what the Pixiu is used for. Pixiu is considered a lazy animal, but very auspicious, so you have to touch and play with Pixiu to wake them up. An interesting ancient Chinese animal, and he works best made from jade. November 4 The Daily Special is on Chinese crystal pendants. I bought them when I was jade shopping in China because they were so beautiful I couldn't resist them, and as a Reiki master I could feel the energy from the crystals, and bought some for myself, then decided to sell them in YYJ even though they are not jade. When I'm seeing someone for Reiki, we talk for awhile before the Reiki session, and I invite them to choose a stone or crystal from a bowl to help me understand their energy needs. As I wrote yesterday, people are attracted to the energy they need. The crystals are a beautiful way to wear a stone with helpful energy. For Chinese medicine practice, the citrine color is related to the spleen and the emotion that damages the spleen is worry. The clear crystal is related to the lungs, and the emotion that damages the lungs is grief and sadness. The crystal pendants are etched with symbols that further add energy to them. They are nicely cut, three dimensional, and look best with an added bail so you can wear it with your chain. Or you can wear them the Chinese way, with a silk cord through the hole. Beautiful, and great energy. November 3 I have a friend who is unable to wear her jade due to medical reasons, treatments she is receiving now. She misses wearing her jade bangle that was on her wrist all the time. She wears jade as "medicine", for balancing her body qi, so not being able to wear her jade bangle is a big deal to her. As a Qi Healer and Reiki Master, I've noticed over the years of selling jade that people who wear jade for health are attracted to the jade that is best for them, whether it's the color, color pattern or quality of the jade. You see the jade with your eyes, it connects with your brain, and if you are in touch with your body, you are attracted to the energy that balances you, and that's part of what causes you to desire a certain piece. So if you wear jade for health and can't wear your jade for whatever the reason, be sure you touch your jade every day, hold it and look at it, because doing that will keep you in touch with the qi energy of your jade. November 2 Yesterday I was so stiff and sore because the day before I had shopped at a trade show, and a Chinese seller always brings jade for me to have "first pick", and I usually buy it all. Then I usually take it to my car, and resume browsing. But this time I got sidetracked and walked a few rows first, lugging around two heavy bags of jade things. When we shop in China, my husband and I both have back packs and haul around heavy jade for days on end. My Chinese jade supplier gets my order, contacts the carver, then jade rough is hauled around, the final product is hauled for about three hours, then repacked for me and shipped by train to the shipping outsourcer. The shipper hauls it around until it gets to me, and by the time you get your jade piece, it's been all over the world, traveled thousands of miles. But you get a small lightweight box and have no idea how much your jade has traveled, how many people have hauled it around. What an adventure the jade has, and if only it could tell you stories! Enjoy your jade, know it has traveled long and far to get to you. November 1 The Calm Spirit / Ying Yu Jade complete November newsletter is available online now, click here.
