Ying Yu Jade FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why don't all the discounts show in the total when I check out?
A: Ying Yu Jade is a small and personal business, with a lot of flexibility for customer requests. Some free shipping offers and other discounts are deducted and refunded after your order has been processed. Be sure to include a note in the comments box on the order form for any special discount you are entitled to.

Q: How do I know how much shipping is charged?
A: Shopping cart orders automatically calculate the shipping and insurance. You can check out the Policies. You order is shipped by weight, and at my discretion USPS Priority Mail or UPS. This is especially true for international orders. A receipt will be included with your order. Some orders may have discounted shipping which will be processed individually.

A: Click here for information about how to buy a jade bangle bracelet.

Q: What if I don't like my jade, or if it is damaged in shipping?
A: This is explained on the Policies page.

Q: Will I get the exact item I order?
A: I take a photo for each bangle bracelet and carvings. Pendants, pillows, health instruments, necklaces are all a little different, but not significantly different.

Q: What's the different between Chinese jade and Burmese jadeite?
A: There are links to this information on the home page. Chinese jade is indigenous to China. Burmese jadeite comes from Burma and is generally carved in China. Watch a video below:

Q: Why is Ying Yu Jade so inexpensive?
A: I buy the jade myself. When I don't personally buy it, my supplier purchases it directly from the carver. In fact, most of the time he buys the rough jade and then asks the carver to make the jade pieces to my specifications. This saves us a tremendous amount of expense and I can pass the savings on to you.

Q: How do I know I can trust purchasing at Ying Yu Jade?
A: Please read this.

Q: How do I know what size jade bangle I should wear?
A: Click here for information about how to measure for your jade bangle size.

Q: Why do some of the jade descriptions include an energy description?
A: Jade is very compatible with body "qi" energy and it is traditional to wear jade for health and healing. In fact, that's how Ying Yu Jade got started. While learning Chinese medicine, jade health tools like rollers, gua sha tool, and ben wa balls were discovered, and we had some of these made exclusively for YYJ. Kathleen is a Reiki Master and Qi Healer, and wears and sells only good quality jade with positive healthy energy. She will infuse your jade piece with qi upon request prior to shipping. Visit calmspirit.net for more information about Chinese wellness and body qi.

Q: Why do we need a "jade wardrobe"?
A: If you wear jade for health and feng shui, you want to have the right kind of jade energy for each season and for your body condition. The Calm Spirit/Ying Yu Jade monthly newsletter includes Chinese wellness information for each month and recommends the best energy jade to wear.

Q: What are the health benefits of wearing a jade bangle all the time?
A: A jade bangle stimulates the acupressure points around your wrist which increase your immunity and improve health. When you wear a jade bangle every day the qi from the jade and your body flow into each other and become very powerful energy. In fact, you might not want other people to touch your jade because it becomes very personal as your qi exchanges.

Q: I read that jade protects the wearer. Is this true?
A: Chinese people have believed that jade does protect the person who wears it. It is believed that when your jade gets a crack in it, that's a time when the jade protected you. Jade protects from danger to your physical body, as well as your mind and spirit. A Chinese woman told me about wearing a chicken blood red jade bangle when she was seriously ill, and while she was in the hospital her jade bangle cracked and broke and she immediately started getting better.

Q: Does jade ever have bad energy?
A: If you are going through a dangerous, unhealthy or stressful time, your jade may get full of negative energy. You might feel it all of sudden becoming uncomfortable, or you have an urge to remove it. Or if you receive a new jade bangle, or a jade piece previously owned, you might think it's beautiful but feel reluctant to wear it. You can energetically clean your jade by washing it wil mild soap and water and soaking it for a few hours in a bowl of water placed in natural light (never direct sunlight). Then dry it with a soft cloth, and if it looks dull, spray some furniture wax on it an polish with a soft cloth. If you wear your jade all the time, it cleans away negative energy when you bathe.
