Host Farm: East End Community Organic Farm
Guest Chef: Jason Weiner of Almond Restaurant
Price: $200
Time: 4 pm

Our third Outstanding dinner in Long Island. In 2004 we gathered with farmer Scott Chaskey in an old apple orchard at Quail Hill Farm in Amagansett. 2005 found us setting the table with Paulette Satur and Eberhard Muller of Satur Farm on the beautiful North Fork. This year we look forward to visiting East Hampton and the East End Community Organic Farm.

Chef Jason Weiner and crew of the Almond Restaurant in Bridgehampton will join us for an afternoon and evening on the farm. Our East End friends Allison Dubin and Christopher Tracy of Channing Daughters Winery will pour award-winning vintages.

Our September dinner coincides with Sand: Memory, Meaning and Metaphor, a summer exhibition at the nearby Parrish Art Museum in Southampton. The Parrish show will include examples of Outstanding in the Field founder Jim Denevan's recent art work.

Outstanding in the Field events feature a leisurely tour of the hosting farm followed by a five course, farm-style dinner at our long table set in a scenic spot. Dinner is accompanied by a wine paired with each course. Diners are joined at the table by the farmer, food producers, a winemaker and other local artisans associated with the meal.
